These two had an exhibition at the Fruitmarket Gallery over the summer and their installation OPERA FOR A SMALL ROOM was my favourite piece in the whole festival.. I think I went back about 5 times.. each time with different people. I have pasted in a small link of Miller being interviewed about the piece and during this he refers to a sense of immersion.. and that so reminds about what I enjoyed so much.. each piece started with a comfortable sense of being detached observer watching a performance but a creeping sense of actually being part of what was happening would develop. Also their work plays with a sense of time.. you feel you are watching a linear piece with time marching forward.. but a a sense of being stuck in a loop or going backwards and forwards at once. Brilliant.
